French president appreciates Vietnam's role in region and world

On behalf of the Vietnamese Ambassadors to France, Ambassador Nguyen Thiep on August 31 presents his credentials to French President Emmanuel Macron.

At the reception, President Emmanuel Macron congratulated Ambassador Nguyen Thiep on his appointment as ambassador to France, expressing his joy at the rapid and positive progress of cooperation between the two countries.
The French President highlighted the similarities and benefits of the two countries' positions on regional and world affairs, expressed his wish to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the Francophone language.
He affirmed that he will pay a visit to Vietnam next year.
For his part, Ambassador Nguyen Thiep expressed his pride and honor to be appointed as Vietnamese Ambassador to France, a country with long history and culture relations with Vietnam.
The ambassador stressed that the official visit to France by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in March 2018 opened a new phase in the Vietnam-France strategic partnership, deepening the economic and trade relations, security and defense, French language, and open up a new field of e-government cooperation.
He affirmed that Vietnam has maintained an independent, autonomous, diversified and multilateral foreign policy, international law.
Besides, Vietnam supports trade liberalization and response to climate change, proliferation to weapons of mass destruction, Thiep added.
The ambassador expressed his wish that French President Emmanuel Macron will continue to give sympathy to Vietnam and support Vietnam on the path of integration and development.
