This year’s conference will see the participation of world leading experts in the area, including Bengt H. Fellenius (Canada), Chang-Yu Ou (Taiwan), Buddhima Indraratna (Australia), Kazuya Yasuhara (Japan) and Jamie Standing (the UK).
The event, the third of its kind, is organised by FECON Cooperation in collaboration with the Vietnam Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (VSSMGE) and the Japan Geotechnical Society (JGS), under the sponsorship of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the US Geotechnical Society, under the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
The event will discuss subjects on several issues such as mistakes and delusion on piled foundation design, evaluation of different measures in reducing movements induced by deep excavation, drains and vacuum for soft soil stabilisation – recent advances in experimental and numerical modeling.
Besides, subjects on geotechnical response to natural disasters in the context of climate change and ground and structural response to tunneling – lessons learnt from three major projects in London will also be heard at the event.
