Germany Lufthansa Cargo debuts Ho Chi Minh City flight

Lufthansa Cargo, a Germany Cargo airline, has added a freighter service between Frankfurt/Main and Ho Chi Minh City in its new winter schedule.

After a test phase over the summer, the airline will fly a Boeing 777F weekly to Ho Chi Minh City. It will depart every Thursday from Frankfurt/Main, heading for Ho Chi Minh City through Mumbai, and will finally terminate at Hong Kong.

Vice President for Asia-Pacific at Lufthansa Cargo Frank Naeve expressed his delight about Vietnam’s stable air demand.
“We are proud to have built up excellent relationships with our clients in Vietnam, which we will now be further cultivating with the fixed freighter connection,” he said.
He added that the carrier would work to make its network in the Asia-Pacific region more attractive to customers.
Boeing 777F is a long-range, wide-body aircraft developed from the Boeing 777-200LR jet. It can fly up to 9,070 kilometres with a full payload of 102 tonnes.
Lufthansa had five Boeing 777F planes on order in 2011.
