Gov’t asks for water supply-demand evaluation

Deputy PM Hoang Trung Hai tasked inferior level to develop a comprehensive national water supply-demand eveluation report in a meeting of the National Water Resources Council.

The report will be the foundation for the Government to issue policies relevant to the management and exploitation of water resoources for production and daily life.


Viet Nam is facing great challenges caused by climate change, which affect various fields of people’s life. Deputy PM Hai said it is a must to endorse measures to secure water resources.

Participants to the meeting reviewed the implementation of the Law on Water Resources, the project on designing mechanisms for managing hydro reservoirs to support socio-economic development, environmental projection and improvement of people’s life around the reservoirs, as well as the monitoring and supervision of water exploitation of cross-border rivers.
