The PM has issued an instruction asking ministries, agencies and localities to strengthen management work; stabilize the domestic market; and ensure social security for the upcoming Lunar New Year festival.
Adequate goods supply
The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) is responsible for keeping a close watch on the demand and supply of essential commodities from production to consumption; support domestic enterprises to expand their business networks, and ensure appropriate prices and quality of essential goods.
The MoIT shall conduct campaigns to bring goods to rural, remote, far-reaching and disaster-hit areas; combine price stabilization programs with trade promotion activities in favour of the “Buy Viet Nam” campaign.
The Ministry was assigned to strengthen investigations and market control to combat counterfeit and low-quality products; and strictly punish trade frauds.
Bracing for ATM withdrawal surge
The State Bank of Viet Nam (SBV) shall continue to manage the flexible, synchronous, and effective monetary instruments; control the growing rate of the total mean of payment and credit growth and ensure smooth and safe operations of ATMs and salary payment during Tet holidays.
The SBV is also in charge of stabilizing foreign exchange rates, gold prices; supervising the operation of credit organizations; and controlling non-performing loans.
Ensuring passengers’ traffic
The Ministry of Transport is responsible for directing relevant agencies and travel enterprises to strengthen means of transport in order to meet travel demand of passengers and ease traffic congestions, especially in big cities.
The MoT was asked to prevent ticket price hike and speculation and inspect the posting of prices.
In addition, the Government chief also requested that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism supervise cultural and festival activities; the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development oversee production of food, foodstuff and vegetables; prevent diseases for plants and domestic animals;
Local authorities were tasked to timely and adequately conduct welfare policies for the poor, people of social beneficiaries, the elderly, the lonely and encourage enterprises, organizations and individuals to support the poor, people in remote, far-reaching and disaster-ravaged areas.
The Ministry of Public Security was assigned to launch campaigns to crack down on crimes; reinforce investigationsto combat social evils and robbery; punish illegal trading and usage of weapons and explosive materials; and strengthen inspections of fire prevention.
