Ha Long Bay in the northern province of Quang Ninh ranked 10th in the list of most splendid destinations in the 2014 Valentine Day, according to the National Geographic.
The US-base travel magazine reported that containing more than 1,600 islands, Ha Long Bay is a vision of astonishing beauty.
The National Geographic suggested visitors book an overnight cruise to watch the islands’ limestone pillars, caves, and arches become steeped in rich oranges and purples at sunset and veiled in an ethereal morning mist at sunrise.
The Top 10 Valentine Retreats also include Post Ranch Inn, Big Sur, California; Sedona, Arizona; Covered Bridges, Vermont; British Pullman Train, the United Kingdom; Hotel Kakslauttanen, Finland; Eiffel Tower, France; Via Dell’Amore, Cinque Terre, Italy; Istrian, Croatia; and Classical Gardens of Suzhou, China.
