In his opening speech on December 27 in Hanoi, Nguyen Xuan Dai, Director of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, said that this event aims to promote trade relations between Hanoi and other provinces, export of handicrafts and agricultural products, while honoring artisans, individuals and producers.

Through the festival, opportunities will be created to connect managers, scientists, farmers, businesses and consumers, contributing to the development of the agricultural economy and rural areas, and boosting the consumption of Hanoi's agricultural and handicraft products in the domestic market and for export.

During the event, the organizers announced and awarded the geographical indication "La Tinh Hoai Duc" to the pomelo from Hoai Duc district. This is also the first GI to be recognized in agricultural production in Hanoi.

As part of the festival, the final round of the contest on scientific and technical knowledge and promotion of consumption of Hanoi pomelo will be held today [December 28]. The contest provides an opportunity for participating organizations and individuals to seek and sign production and consumption contracts for agricultural products through trade promotion activities.

On December 29, a conference on promoting the consumption of agricultural products (pomelo, banana, quality rice) and cultural bonding events will be held.
