The event saw the attendance of Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung and Vice Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Doan Toan.
The Department has improved the ability as an advisory body on making the socio – economic development plan and removed shortcomings, weaknesses in the assignment in 2017.
Especially, the Department has submitted plans of public investment, middle-term public investment for the 2017-2020 period, 160 off-budget projects with a total value of about VND 110,000 billion to the Municipal People’s Committee for its approval.
By December 25, 2017, the Department received and settled 43,746 documents, up 17% in comparison with the same period last year. Besides, the unit also received 211,342 administrative procedures and 98% of them were settled on time. At the conference, Director Nguyen Manh Quyen also pointed out some shortcomings to overcome in 2018.
To promote the gained achievements, in 2018, the Department of Investment and Planning will focus on improving the quality of professional duty to well complete its political missions; effectively implementing the working theme 2018 “improving the capacity and operational efficiency of the entire political system”; urging the implementation of the city working programs; increasing the quality of growth, competitiveness and developing the capital’s economy quickly and sustainably; synchronously developing infrastructure and enhancing urban civilization, etc.
On behalf of the city leaders, Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung praised the achievements gained by the department in 2017. In the coming time, the Chairman requested that the Department should well perform the planning task and the socio-economic development plan.
Furthermore, the Department should pay special attention to reviewing and boosting administrative reform so as to create favorable conditions for local people and enterprises to carry out their administrative procedures, he suggested.
Besides, the Chairman asked the Department to make training plans to improve officials and public servants’ professional skills; set up schemes to support local businesses and establishment of small and medium enterprises and so on.
