Hanoi encourages “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese products” campaign

The Hanoi Steering Committee for the Campaign “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese products” has recently held a conference to review the implementation results in 2017 and deploy key tasks for 2018.

In 2017, Hanoi's Steering Committees at all levels, departments and sectors focused on comprehensive communication on the campaign, contributing to building consumption culture of Vietnamese people in general and Hanoians in particular.

Besides, enterprises have positively responded to the campaign; proactively renewed advanced technologies and boosted the application of science and technology so as to improve the quality of products and diversify product designs.

Especially, the Municipal Steering Committee also organized a series of activities in response to the Vietnamese product fairs, the promotion month, contributing to effectively introducing high-quality domestic products to local consumers. 

Over the past years, Hanoi has synchronously deployed numerous measures to remove difficulties for enterprises; focused on creating favorable conditions for enterprises to enhance their investment and expand their production; implemented programs on developing industrial products, brand names, start-up businesses, contributing to creating favorable environment for enterprises and so on.

Hanoi also asked departments, sectors, units and press agencies to support local businesses to introduce their products to consumers; renew communication methods and deploy a number of trade promotion activities; strengthen protection of consumers’ rights; enhance the fight against smuggling, counterfeiting and trade frauds.

Hanoi requested membership units of the Steering Committee to innovate communication methods on the campaign “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese products” in association with implementing missions assigned by the city; make communication plans to improve consumers’ awareness on Vietnamese products.

To better deploy the campaign in 2018, Hanoi also asked departments, sectors, units to tightly cooperate with the Department of Industry and Trade to strengthen trade promotion activities, Vietnamese product fairs and weeks in rural areas, industrial parks and export processing zones, etc.

Furthermore, units should enhance inspection and supervision of domestic market stabilization; organize many programs on supporting the building of brand names of craft villages and protecting consumers’ rights, etc.

Besides, the Steering Committee would take advantages of associations in supporting enterprises in the integration period; direct the implementation of market management and the fight against smuggling, counterfeiting and trade frauds; focus on checking manufacturing facilities which do not meet food safety standards, contributing to curbing inflation, stabilizing vital commodities and ensuring social welfare and sustainable development.
