After two years of intense combat, the illegal trading of "funky ball", "shisha" and "American weed" is no longer rampant and tends to decrease.

The city’s departments and agencies positively participated in preventing, detecting and dealing with crimes related to production, trading and use of these kinds of drug.

Hanoi's police seized 10,000 “funky balls” and dozens of N2O cylinders on July 16 when raiding some 30 businesses, mainly bars and night clubs in Hang Buom, Luong Ngoc Quyen and Ta Hien streets, in the Old Quarter.

Director of the Hanoi Market Management Department Chu Xuan Kien said that the use of “funky ball” is rampant among young people in the city.

The Ministry of Public Security is also studying proposals to put “funky ball” into the list of drugs, Kien added.

Besides, a large amount of illegal beer, alcohol, cigarettes and “shisha” tools were seized.
