Hanoi honors outstanding faces in innovation, digital transformation

The Final Round of the Capital's Innovation and Digital Transformation Products Competition 2024 aims to honor exemplary figures in innovation and digital transformation.

Five teams and individuals among 1,200 contestants from universities, colleges, and enterprises were honored at the Capital's Innovation and Digital Transformation Products Competition 2024, which took place in Hanoi on December 4th.

Deputy Secretary of Hanoi Youth Union Tran Quang Hung said that the competition aims to find blockchain technology solutions to address real-life issues. This is also a practical activity to implement Program No. 07-CTr/TU of the Hanoi Party Committee on "Promoting science, technology development and innovation in Hanoi for the 2021-2025 period."

Hung said that through the competition, the Hanoi Youth Union hopes to create a beneficial platform for youth members to showcase their talents and passion for technology; accelerate the national digital transformation process and digital economy development; and contribute to building high-quality human resources, promoting Vietnam's strong and sustainable development in the coming time.

A competition of creative ideas

The five teams competing in the finals are authors of projects with creative and practical ideas, including: Vietnam Carbon Credits Project, Finsey Flexible Tuition Solution, Fun Studio automated photography brand, GlobeID digital identity application, and HSV Pickleball Club.

Representative of Vietnam Carbon Credit Project presents at the competition.

The Vietnam Carbon Credits Project was established to provide carbon credit creation and trading services through forest planting and regeneration activities. Beneficiaries include landowners, businesses, and NGOs.

The project aims to reduce CO2 emissions, create sustainable income for landowners, and help businesses comply with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards.

For Fun Studio representative presents at the contest.

Fun Studio quickly caught up with the resurging trend of automated instant photography popular among Korean youth, bringing this model to Vietnam with superior, more convenient solutions that are easy to manage and operate at reasonable prices for college and high school students. Not only the domestic market, the enteprise also aims to become the leading franchise brand in Southeast Asia.

GlobeID representative presents at the competition.

As a blockchain-based application, GlobeID provides a unique digital identification solution for Web3 users. The project aims to prevent fake accounts, optimize costs for organizations, and create trust on digital platforms.

In addition, GlobeID integrates a Web3 wallet and analytics tool, which helps users participate in airdrop campaigns intelligently.

Finsey representative presents at the competition.

HSV Pickleball Club is a chain project offering pickleball experience with a modern ecosystem meeting international standards. Besides state of the art training and competition services, the project regularly organizes tournaments and travel-combined competitions for businesses, organizations, and individuals.

Providing affordable and accessible loans for college and university students is Finsey's primary goal. The platform uses an alternative scoring mechanism "based on GPA and alternative data to evaluate students instead of traditional credit scores used by banks (as 95% of students don't have credit scores)."

The Organizing Committee awards prizes to the finalists of the Capital - Sao Kim 2024 Digital Transformation and Innovation Product Competition.

After intense competition and stunning presentations, the GlobeID project excellently won First Prize. Second Prize went to Fun Studio project, while Finsey project won Third Prize. Two Consolation Prizes were awarded to HSV Pickleball project and Carbon Credits project.

Towards a common platform for domestic innovation community

Tran Quang Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Youth Union, shared that the first year of organizing the Capital's Innovation and Digital Transformation Product Contest faced many challenges such as sourcing projects, attracting teams, and convincing investors. However, after the initial phase, the contest received support from many large investment funds and enterprises.

The contest not only took place in Hanoi but also in other major cities like Danang and Ho Chi Minh City, attracting around 2,000 teams with over 10,000 members from universities and enterprises in Vietnam, the UK, the US, and China. Besides organizing the contest, the Hanoi Youth Union also implemented other support programs such as providing office space, consulting, and investment support for innovative projects, aiming to create positive impacts on the creative and digital technology community nationwide.

The Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Youth Union hopes the contest will create a creative playground and connect the innovation and digital technology community in Vietnam. Despite some initial challenges, the contest has received widespread support and is expected to have positive impacts on the innovation and digital technology community both domestically and internationally.
