Hanoi hotel listed among world's top 100

Hotels were rated based on readers’ ratings for rooms and facilities, location, service, restaurants, food and overall value.

Capella Hanoi is one of three hotels in Vietnam to make the world's 100 most favorite list, as voted by readers of Travel + Leisure, a US travel magazine.

Opened in 2021 amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, Capella Hanoi ranks 18th.

Located on Le Phung Hieu Street in Hanoi's Old Quarter, the hotel's suites are inspired by the Hanoi Opera House, a symbol of past extravagance. Each room has a balcony overlooking Hoan Kiem Lake in the center of the capital.

"Designed by renowned visionary Bill Bensley, the hotel's architecture and interiors pay a glamorous homage to the excess of Vietnam's Roaring Twenties. The rooms are not only spacious, they're beautifully eye-catching, thanks to a mix of colors, patterns, and textures," the US magazine commented.

"If there's a Vietnamese phrase to describe Capella Hanoi, it's "tinh te" (delicate). A "tinh te" state of mind is a process of careful selection," the magazine wrote on its website.

A night's stay at the luxury hotel starts at VND6.5 million (US$275).

The 47-room hotel was also one of the best new accommodations in the Asia-Pacific region, according to the travel megazine DestinAsian's The Luxe List 2021. It was also listed No.3 Best City Hotel in Asia and No.1 Best Hotel Brand in the World.

This year's ranking is part of Travel + Leisure's annual World's Best Awards.

In addition to Capella Hanoi, one hotel in Ho Chi Minh City and Phu Quoc was named to Travel + Leisure's World's Best Awards list.

Reverie Saigon on Nguyen Hue Boulevard in downtown Ho Chi Minh City is in 35th place. Regent Phu Quoc, which opened on Vietnam's largest island in April last year, is 19th on the list.
