Hanoi launched writting contest "For traffic safety in the Capital – 2015”

On the morning of March 14, the Economic & Urban Newspaper held a ceremony to sum up the writing contest entitled “For traffic safety in the Capital – 2014” and launched the campaign of 2015.

The award’s ceremony was attended by Deputy Chief of Propaganda Nguyen The Ky; Permanent Vice Chairman of Vietnam Association of Journalists Ha Minh Hue; Journalism Department Hoang Huu Luong and Vice Chairman of The National Committee for Traffic Safety Khuat Viet Hung, etc. 
Also attended by Vice Chairman of the People's Council Le Van Hoat, Vice Chairman Tran Xuan Viet, Head of Propaganda Ho Quang Loi and representatives from city departments. 
There are also leaders representing the central press agencies and Hanoi; the delegates from provinces in the country, representatives from departments, the leaders, journalists elderly generations of Economic & Urban Newspaper with many partners and collaborators.
Opening the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Minh Duc, the Editor in Chief of Economic & Urban Newspaper and the contest’s chief organizer made speech sum up the writing contest. 
Acoording to Mr Duc, the contest “For traffic safety in the Capital – 2014” recorded more than 25,000 entries of entrants from a number of localities and many schools, universities. The writing contest urged more inspections and supervision to take dangerous vehicles off the roads, improve traffic law compliance, teach everyone’s traffic behaviour, he said. 
After Mr. Nguyen Minh Duc’s speech, Mr. Tran Xuan Viet - Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee highly valued the contest “For traffic safety in the Capital”. 
According to the Vice Chairman, the contest is one of various efforts to raise public awareness of traffic safety and minimize traffic accidents in the capital city. Students, children have better and smarter traffic behaviour thanks to the contest. Some ideas of entries help the City Committee measures to ensure road safety and tackle traffic jams.
At the ceremony, after awarded the winners, the writing contest “For traffic safety - 2015” continued was launched. According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Duc -  the contest’s chief organizer, all the entries are required to reflect the real story about traffic safety in Vietnam especially Hanoi as well as suggest solutions to the problems. “We welcome features on Vietnam’s traffic culture, with a focus on good examples of road users and traffic police working tirelessly to ensure safety and order”, he said.
The contest encourages both proffesional and amateur writers across Vietnam to write features, essays, and reports on traffic safety.
