The photo contest is under a cooperation project between Council for Promoting Tourism in Asia (CPTA), Hanoi and CPTA’s members.
Hanoi's Department of Tourism has launched a photo contest on the sunset of Vietnam’s capital in Instagram to create a photo repository and promote the city at domestic and international tourism events.
The photo contest is under cooperation project between the Council for Promoting Tourism in Asia (CPTA), Hanoi and CPTA’s members.
The contest, to be held from June to July 31, aims to provide authentic travel information on Hanoi and raise awareness in the community on the “Welcome to Asia” campaign which is conducted through the cooperation of ten Asian cities, including Hanoi. Accordingly, 10 member cities of CPTA will participate in the photo voting contest.
There will be five excellence award winners of each city. And then, the best award winner will be selected from all the winners for a special best award prize.
In September last year, Hanoi successfully hosted the 16th annual meeting of CPTA where CPTA member cities had a chance to seek measures to lure more visitors to Asia through cooperative projects, programs and campaigns.
The meeting also focused on strengthening cooperation between member cities as well as between tourism promotion agencies and businesses.
On the sidelines of the event, Hanoi also organized a tourism promotion conference to help connect CPTA member cities with local travel firms. The activities included an exposition and tours for participating delegates around tourist destinations in Hanoi.
Hanoi is expected to welcome more than 14.3 million visitors in the first half of 2019, a 9.5% increase from the same period last year, according to the municipal Department of Tourism.
Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism Tran Duc Hai expects the city to welcome 28.9 million visitors in 2019, a 10.1% increase from last year. Of the total holidaymakers, 7 million will be foreigners, up 17% year-on-year.
