Hanoi launches website to better people’s manner

The website aims to introduce the beauty of Hanoi and criticize the ugly things negatively affecting the cultural life and urban landscape of Vietnam’s capital.

The online portal (literally Nice Hanoi) was launched on June 3, a concrete step to realize the city's plan on strengthening the socio-economic development, improving the qualifications of human resource and building elegant and civilized Hanoians.

The website is operated by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports with five main modules including “Hanoi Focus”, which reflects the unique features of the capital city, pictures of ancient and present Hanoi; “Hanoians” gathers the stories on good manner of the people of the capital city; “Hanoi Experience” promotes  tourism, culture, art and cuisine of Hanoi; “Hanoi – Good and Bad” portrays the beauty of Hanoi, criticizes the ugly things negatively affecting the cultural reputation and urban landscape of Vietnam’s capital.
Besides the five main sections, there is another module titled “Hanoi – Thang Long: Follow the timeline” introducing the history, culture and people of Hanoi.
Hanoi has been well known for its millenary culture characterized by the gentle manner of its citizens.
Vietnam’s capital city is expected to welcome more than 14.3 million visitors in the first half of 2019, a 9.5% increase from the same period last year, according to the municipal Department of Tourism.
Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism Tran Duc Hai expects the city to welcome 28.9 million visitors in 2019, a 10.1% increase from last year. Of the total holidaymakers, 7 million will be foreigners, up 17% year-on-year, and 21.9 million will be domestic tourists.
