The Municipal People’s Committee will consider and approve investments in water supply network projects for communes which have not yet built water supply stations in districts of Me Linh, Ba Vi, Phuc Tho, Dan Phuong, Thach That and Chuong My.
For projects scheduled to be completed in the period of 2019 - 2020, investors are urged to develop the clean water supply network by 2020 in line with the building of water supply plants as planned.
The city strives to supply clean water to more than 80% of residents in rural areas by 2019 and 100% by 2020.
It is important to carry out the goals and orientations approved by the prime minister on approving missions of adjusting the water supply planning for Hanoi by 2030, a vision to 2050.
Particularly, by 2020, 100% of population in urban areas, about 90%-100% in satellite urban areas and 90%-100% in rural areas will have access to clean water according to the Health Ministry’s standard.
Investors are tasked to perfect the processes of management and operation, to supplement water purification systems, to protect and upgrade plumbing systems to ensure stable operation, and to complete water supply connections for households in areas having water supply projects with the roadmap for implementation by 2020.
Water trading companies who have already invested in the clean water supply network are assigned to review the status of water plants, water supply stations. Besides, they must make plans, roadmaps on adjusting, supplementing modern water treatment technologies and replacing degraded pipeline system in order to ensure water meeting standards of drinking tap water.
The city suggested the Ministry of Health to give instructions and issue standards of drinking tap water with the roadmap for implementation by 2020.
