Hanoi People`s Committee opened a traditional flower market for the Lunar New Year (Tet) 2016 on January 25 in Hang Luoc street, Hoan Kiem district.
The traditional Tet flower market in Hang Luon street has become a unique feature of residents in the Old Quarters in particular and Hanoians in general in the past centuries.
In this year's flower market, Hoan Kiem district focused on organising the sales area and promoting the decorative lighting, while holding cultural and artistic activities to serve the people and international tourists visiting and shopping at the market.
All these activities will create a space of the traditional market, while ensuring the safety, security and civilization", Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem district Nguyen Anh Quan confirmed.
According to the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, during the 2016 Lunar New Year festival, the department and People's Committee of districts will organise 8 Tet flower markets across the city.
