Hanoi prepares for 2016 in style with countdown parties

As the clock ticks down the last hours of the year 2015, Countdown Parties are due to be held in different locations in the city.

The Heneiken Countdown Party with special performances of leading artists, Vietnamese and international DJs will take place at Ly Thai To Square on Dinh Tien Hoang Street.
A similar event hosted by local brewery Hanoi Beer will take place in front of Thong Nhat Park's main entrance on Tran Nhan Tong Street. Starting from 9pm, the event's atmosphere will be stirred up by music from popular singers and bands. Party-goers will get free drinks during the event.

Most of the big hotels also have Countdown Parties to allow guests to welcome 2016 in style. While Sofitel Plaza's Summit Lounge will offer "Taittinger Nocturne City Lights Countdown Party", the JW Marriott Hanoi's Antidote Bar will feature some of Hanoi's best DJs. The Lotte Hotel Hanoi expects to create memorable moments for party-goers in the party located on its 63rd level.
On New Year's Day, Mochi Pounding Ceremony – a New Year's party in traditional Japanese style, will be held at Hotel Nikko Hanoi from 2pm. Guests will also have the chance to enjoy sake at the ceremony.
