Hanoi proposes 3 contents of cooperation with South Korea

On December 14 afternoon, Chairman of Hanoi People`s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung had a meeting with South Korean Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Lee Hyuk.

At the meeting, the Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee expressed his pleasure at the deeper development of cooperation between the two Capitals as well as the two countries, especially in the field of commercial investment. Korea is the leading investor in Hanoi, the Korean community people living here are also increasingly significant contribution to the development achievements of the Capital. "2017 is the time of the 25th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Korea, which will create conditions for the opportunity to Korean enterprises to seek opportunities to expand cooperation in the Capital of Hanoi," Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung stressed.

Informing about the development of the Capital, the City Chairman said that Hanoi's growth in 2016 reached 8.03%, the highest in the past 6 years. The development program in 2016-2020 period has been basically completed, focusing on administrative reform, infrastructure construction, urban transport, social security programs, poverty reduction, cultural development and tourism.

Regarding cooperation activities in 2017, the City Chairman proposes that Embassy in collaboration with the Korean People's Committee will held a conference on trade investment promotion between Hanoi and Korean businesses. Besides, the city also plans to invite a delegation of Korean art and culture to perform in walking street area of ​​Sword Lake, at the mean time inviting the Embassy to contribute in Asian Food Festival in the coming time.

Impressed by the achievements and development plans of the Capital, the Korean Ambassador affirmed to strengthen cooperation with Hanoi, which is the focus of the Korea-Vietnam generation. Lee Hyuk also agreed with  3 proposals from Hanoi leaders and pledged to make every effort to contribute to successful implementation of the cooperation contents.
