Hanoi receives over 14.3 million visitors in H1/2019

Popular attractions in Hanoi included the Huong Son complex named special national relic site, Tan Da Tourism Site, Thien Son Suoi Nga eco-tourism, Duong Lam Ancient Village, Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, among others.

Hanoi is expected to welcome more than 14.3 million visitors in the first half of 2019, a 9.5% increase from the same period last year, according to the municipal Department of Tourism.

The number of foreign arrivals in Hanoi in the six-month period is estimated at 3.3 million, up 10.6% year-on-year, while the number of domestic arrivals in the capital city is estimated at 11 million, a 9.2% increase year-on-year.
The total income from tourism revenue is estimated at more than VND50.2 trillion (US$2.1 billion), up 29.8% year-on-year.

In 2019, Hanoi has 3,499 tourist accommodation establishments, including hotels, tourist apartments, hostels, with a total of 60,812 rooms.
Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism Tran Duc Hai expects the city to welcome 28.9 million visitors in 2019, a 10.1% increase from last year. Of the total holidaymakers, 7 million will be foreigners, up 17% year-on-year, and 21.9 million will be domestic tourists. The total income from tourism revenue is estimated to top VND103.8 trillion (US$4.4 billion).
Hanoi and CNN have extended an agreement to broadcast the city’s images to the worldwide audience via CNN International channel during the 2019 - 2024 period. The US  news channel will further the outreach of Hanoi and its culture, history and people, while partnering with the city in international events and technological innovation. In particular, the Formula Race One (F1) will be the spotlight of the 2020 promotional plan.
