People’s Artist Le Khanh, football player Hoang Vu Samson, and Miss Vietnam 2016 Do My Linh will participate in Hanoi Run for Children 2016 that will take place in Hanoi`s Thong Nhat Park from 7:00 am on December 11.
A press conference to announce the Hanoi Run for Children 2016 was held in Hanoi on November 24.
Hanoi Run for Children 2016 will be organised in the Thong Nhat Park, Hanoi from 7:00 am on December 11 to raise funds for the treatment of disadvantaged children with cancer and heart disease.
In the Ambassador’s opinion, Nguyen Thi Hoi, Vice President of the Vietnam-Canada Friendship Association said the Hanoi Run for Children is a people-to-people diplomacy activity, showing the friendship between the two countries and between Vietnamese people and international friends.
The run raises about 1 billion VND (44,000 USD) each year, benefiting more than 300 needy children to date, Hoi added.
Speaking at the press conference, Canadian Ambassador to Vietnam Ping Kinikone highlighted the significance of the event and stressed that the run aims to join hands to help disadvantaged children while consolidating the bilateral ties between Vietnam and Canada.
The diplomat pledged that the Embassy will continue supporting Vietnam’s community-oriented prorgrammes and initiatives.
The money mobilised from the event will be donated to the Heart Beat Vietnam programme, patients at the Vietnam National Hospital of Peadiatrics and Hanoi Heart Hospital.
This year’s run will be participated by People’s Artist Le Khanh, football player Hoang Vu Samson, Miss Vietnam 2016 Do My Linh, and actor Phan Anh
The annual event is jointly organised by the Vietnam-Canada Friendship Association, the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organisations, the Embassy of Canada and sponsors.
