Hanoi to encourage safe agricultural products

​Safe Northern agro-products and specialties week will be held at Trade Promotion Center for Agriculture (AGRITRADE), 489 Hoang Quoc Viet Street from September 9-15 on the occasion of Mid-Autumn Festival.



The Hanoi Agriculture Trade Promotion Centre will zone off 119 areas in inner Hanoi to showcase safe farm produce and specialities of the northern region. Additionally, safe agro-products and local specialties of the Southern provinces will also be introduced at the event.

Organized by Ha Noi’s Agricultural Trade Promotion Center, the exhibition will display safe agro-products and local specialties of the Northern provinces at 75 standard stands and 118 outlets in 12 urban districts.

The consumers will also have chance to scan QR (quick response) code printed on the products to search detailed information relating to the products and its production and distribution facilities sold at 24 stands.

According to Director of Ha Noi’s Agricultural Trade Promotion Center - Nguyen Van Chi, the week aims to introduce to local consumers safe food products of the Southern localities; help consumers know how to identify, distinguish and choose the clean, safe, and high quality assurance products. Director Chi said over 100 kinds of safe farm produce and specialities from many northern localities will be display during the week, which aims to help consumers identify safe food. 

Additionally, in the framework of the event, a seminar on organic food and a workshop focusing on ways to address difficulties facing safe food production will be also organized. Agricultural, nutrition experts will have chance to share and exchange experiences on food safety.

It will offer a good chance for enterprises and distributors to share experience and seek partnerships, as well as promote their products, contributing to enhancing the food safety management and bringing safe products to consumers, he said. 

Along with land regrouping, people in rural area of Hanoi expects for more favourable policies to support agricultural production, build intensive high-tech agriculture production zones, and improve traffic as well as irrigation systems to enhance supply and consumption.

Hanoi aims to boost rural development and improve spiritual and material lives of farmers. Different measures are given, including mobilizing resources for developing socio-economic infrastructure in rural areas, and assessing criteria of new-style rural area for improvement. 

Hanoi People’s Committee will increase leadership, implement policies to support and encourage the development of agriculture and construction of intensive production areas, and provide technology transfer as well as detailed guidance for each type of intensive production.

Pursuant to Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung, Hanoi has witnessed significant progresses in applying modern technologies, high-tech and mechanization in production. Intensive production areas are founded and expanded for farm products, food, animal husbandry and aquaculture.
