The Capital has implemented the target of renovating, preserving and promoting typical cultural values of the countries in the area, preventing the risk of loss, destruction and serious deterioration of monuments in the area and completed the total inventory, assessment and classification of monuments.
Especially, Hanoi is assigned to manage over 5922 historical, culture and arts monuments. In recent period, the city has allocated over VND570 billion to support the implementation of 145 projects on renovating and restoring cultural and historical monuments in the area.
The City has proposed five heritages to develop profiles for recognition as national intangible cultural heritage, including the Hat Mon Temple Festival in Hat Mon Commune, Phuc Tho District; Va Temple Festival in Trung Hung Commune, Son Tay Town and Chem Temple Festival in Bac Tu Liem District.
Additionally, the city also opens the training courses for the development of traditional arts, such as Ca tru (ceremonial singing); Cheo Tau dance; beating gongs of Thach That District, etc; strengthens disseminating traditional arts in schools, periodically organizing performances and talk about traditional arts in schools.
In addition, the Capital has increased investment in mountainous, deep-lying, remote, border and island areas, providing equipment to 01 district cultural house, 12 communal cultural houses, 13 village cultural houses, 01 mobile information team, five district libraries and specialized equipment for information and communication activities of 16 communes.
Relating tourism sector, the city has spent VND299 billion investing in tourism infrastructure projects. The number of tourists coming to Ha Noi is on the rise, accounting for about 30 percent of the total number of foreign tourists to the country. The city will focus on fully tapping its resources to further promote local tourism with a view to making it a spearhead sector.
In 2017, the city will continue to focus on infrastructure investment, building synchronous infrastructure to promote tourism development associated with programs and projects of the country and the city; investing in roads to connect transportation infrastructure to the tourist sites; renovating and upgrading a number of key monuments to develop tourism.
Hanoi plans to invest in projects to build tourist infrastructure in national tourism zone of Ba Vi - Suoi Hai, Huong Pagoda and typical traditional craft villages. In culture development, the Capital will restore three special national monuments and 26 typical national and historical monuments and focus on preserving protection-prioritized heritages required urgent protection.
