Runners will race through six districts of Hanoi where iconic architectural heritages associated with the history of the establishment and development of the capital are located.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Hanoi People's Committee and other agencies will jointly hold the ASEAN Marathon 2020 titled “Greeting the Dawn, Welcoming the New Normal” in Hanoi on October 18.

As Vietnam holds the ASEAN Chair in 2020, a number of cultural and sports activities have and will take place in Hanoi to introduce culture, landscapes and people of the capital, Vietnam and ASEAN countries, Foreign Ministry spokesman Le Thi Thu Hang told a regular press conference on October 15.
The marathon will kick off at 0:00am on October 18 for runners who defy the full marathon of 42 km. Those who join the half marathon race of 21km start at 2am. The start time for runners of 10km and 5km is 3am and 8am, respectively.
The start point is Ba Kieu Temple in Hoan Kiem district. Runners will race through six districts of Hanoi on routes where iconic architectural heritages associated with the history of the formation and development of the capital are located.
In addition, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will coordinate with the embassies of ASEAN countries in Hanoi and relevant agencies to organize an exhibition of traditional clothing of ASEAN countries from October 21 to 28 at the National History Museum, No. 1 Trang Tien street, Ms. Hang added.
The exhibition will present traditional costumes of ten ASEAN member countries and display pictures of people, landscapes and countries in the region.
