Hanoi to launch national clean water week 2018

The Hanoi People’s Committee Office has recently granted Official Letter No. 2840/VP-DT, asking relevant departments, sectors to respond to the National Week of Rural Clean Water and Environmental Sanitation in 2018.

The launching ceremony is scheduled to take place from April 15 to May 15, 2018.

According to proposal of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development at Official Letter No. 2645/BNN-TCTL dated April 9, 2018 on organizing activities in response to the National Week of Rural Clean Water and Environmental Sanitation in 2018 under the theme “Rural clean water and environmental sanitation for public health”.
On basis of specific conditions in each locality, the organization of the National Week of Rural Clean Water and Environmental Sanitation 2018 must be formal, practical and economical. Each province, city, ministry, sector and collective will launch the week and encourage local residents to respond to environmental sanitation campaigns.
Besides, localities pay attention to strengthening communication on clean water supply and rural environmental sanitation on mass media; launching communication campaigns via diversified activities to improve the community’s awareness of clean water and environmental sanitation; repairing clean water supply works and cleaning environment in households and public areas; mobilizing all people to clean village’s roads, building civilized life and cultural families in association with the movement “Ensuring rural clean water and environmental sanitation for public health”.
Regarding to the above-mentioned matter, the Municipal People’s Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to take prime responsibility and cooperate with relevant organizations to implement activities in response to the National Week of Rural Clean Water and Environmental Sanitation 2018 in the area.
