Under the Guidance, agencies, departments and sectors of Hanoi will increase popularization of written instructions on natural disaster prevention and control.
Hanoi to popularize natural disaster prevention and control

The authorities will pay special attention to Directive No. 05/CT-UBND dated March 30, 2018 of the Municipal People’s Committee on natural disaster prevention and control, search and rescue in 2018, focusing on following points:
Highlighting the city’s policy on proactively preventing and controlling the natural disasters, promptly responding to the natural disasters, effectively dealing with any incidents.
Popularizing plans of Hanoi, localities, agencies and units to prevent and control flooding and storms, reduce effect of natural disasters, implement search and rescue.
Paying more attention to popularizing important and critical places on dykes among the people.
Popularizing knowledge of natural disasters and experience in flooding, storm prevention and control; providing information of features and unusual changes of rains, storms and hurricanes.
Encouraging people, and guiding them how to prepare, taking preventive measures, proactively responding to the rain, storm and flood, and reducing effect of the natural disasters in localities according to the Four On-site Motto.
Organizing training and practices, focusing on measures to handle incidents caused by flood and storm as soon as they occur.
Popularizing responsibilities of local governments of districts, suburban districts, communes, wards and towns in dyke management and protection; conducting information work in association with detecting, preventing violations of the Law on Dykes, the Ordinance on Flood and Storm Prevention and Control, Ordinance on Exploitation and Protection of Irrigation Works, and suggesting drastic measures to handle them as soon as they are detected, especially in the areas and agencies on the riverside.
Recognizing the localities, units, collectives and individuals which have excellent performance in popularization, dyke protection, infrastructure development for natural disaster prevention and control, flood and storm response, and sharing their experiences for further application.
Criticizing localities, units, collectives and individuals that have low performance in natural disaster, flood and storm prevention and control.
The popularization will be conducted in various methods by Party organizations, unions, residential groups, wards, communes, offices, enterprises and schools, featuring sense of responsibilities of the community.
It will suggest practical measures to prevent and control flood and storms at grassroots level. People will be encouraged to get prepared for natural disaster prevention and control, and take part in natural disaster prevention and control work in the localities.
