Hanoi to promote mechanization in agriculture production

Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development yesterday organized a conference to summarize the project on developing agricultural mechanization in Hanoi by 2016 with orientations to 2020.

Hanoi People’s Committee has approved the project on developing agricultural mechanization in Hanoi by 2016 with orientations to 2020 to improve labor productivity as well as to lower the prices of agricultural products. Moreover, the Hanoi Party Committee, the People’s Council, the People’s Committee, districts, towns have paid special attention to policies to support, strengthen the mechanization in agriculture.

Hanoi Agriculture Promotion Center was tasked to take prime responsibility for implementing the project. The center organized hundreds of intensive training courses on managing, using, operating, maintaining machines, devices of agricultural mechanization for technical staffs in localities, farmers.

A report by the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development shows that the mechanization proportion of soil preparation and harvesting respectively reaches 95%, 52% (exceeding 5.6%, 22% against the plan) and so on.

Especially, the mechanization application aims at reducing the production cost; increasing the productivity, quality, economic effectiveness, contributing to building new-style rural areas. According to the capital city’s orientations to 2020, the crop sector will significantly improve the mechanization proportion in soil preparation, cultivation, harvesting, etc.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Ngo Dai Ngoc said that to make greater gains, in the coming time, the City will continue investing, supporting agricultural mechanization, such as: granting preferential policies to support funds for famers, enterprises to purchase machines; strengthening land accumulation; building large sample fields; setting up a connection between farming households, cooperatives to create big production scale; focusing on livestock sector, especially processing, preserving agricultural products and so on.
