Hanoi People’s Committee requests relevant units to take measures for developing transportation modes in the cities under Central Government.
Hanoi to take measures to develop transportation modes

Giving priority to developing public transportation (bus, van, taxi) in urban transport, thus creating favorable conditions for people to use shared transportation services and gradually reducing the use of private vehicles;
Connecting urban railway stations and bus stops properly; considering a project to use tram in order to connect residential areas along the urban railway and to use Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) services, thus creating favorable conditions for traffic participants to use these two services;
Further improving service quality and attitude towards customers of bus drivers andtheir supporters on buses; improving facilities of bus stops and bus stations; putting smart ticket system into use for convenience of passengers; improving quality of vehicles, and paying attention to developing environmentally friendly buses which use clean fuel.
In order to realize the task, the Ha Noi People’s Committee assigns Department of Transport in cooperation with other sectors, agencies and relevant units to study instruction of the Deputy Prime Minister, suggest measures to perform the task, and report to the Municipal People’s Committee by April 15.
