Hanoi Tourism Department makes its debut

Hanoi People`s Committee held a ceremony to announce the debut of the municipal Tourism Department on September 21.

Attending the ceremony were Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen The Thao; Deputy Permanent Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Ngo Thi Thanh Hang; Deputy Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee, Chairman of the municipal People's Council Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc.

Speaking at the event, Chairman Nguyen The Thao said Hanoi has full of resources and huge potentials for tourism development.
In recent years, municipal tourism has been considered to be one of key economic sectors, reaching a stable growth, effectively contributing to transform the economic structure of the city.
The Chairman stated that in the future, the city will exploit efficiently its resources to develop tourism, focusing on the synchronized and effective implementation of Plan on tourism development by 2020, with a vision towards 2030.
By 2020, Hanoi tourism targets to become one of key economic sectors of the ctiy, with high-quality and diversified tourism products, leading to be a safe, friendly, quality and attractive destination, and the travel center of the country and the northern region, he added.
