The number of domestic visitors to Hanoi reached 300,000 in November after a long hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, according to the Hanoi Department of Tourism.
The figure declined by 57% year on year, making the total revenue down 51% to VND844 billion (US$39 million).

The travelers usually came in small groups and families to visit museums, parks, ecological zones, hotels and resorts in Hanoi.
Thu Le Park welcomed about 18,000 visitors, the Museum of Ethnology received 1,000, 600 tourists visited the Military History Museum. Meanwhile, other 1,000 travelers chose to stay and unwind at Tan Da resort. The Ba Vi National Park was one of the most favorite travel destinations, welcoming 25,000 visitors.
Regarding the hotel business, in November, the average occupancy rate of hotels was estimated at 26.5%, down 12.5% over the same period in 2020.
As of November, 23 hotels with 2,640 rooms were repurposed to accommodate concentrated medical isolation facilities for Covid-19 prevention and control. Hanoi Department of Tourism highly appreciated the efforts of tourism businesses.
“Most of the local tour operators are implementing well the Government’s policy on safe and flexible adaptation and effective control of the Covid-19 pandemic,” a representative from the municipal Department of Tourism said.
The department will carry out some tourism promotion campaigns to build up the image of Hanoi as a green, clean and sustainable capital.
The People's Committees of districts such as Bac Tu Liem, Ba Vi, Dan Phuong, Gia Lam, Dong Anh are urged to apply virtual technlogy to introduce and promote tourist attractions and relics to attract online seekers amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
