You are cordially invited to the grandest and most ambitious live entertainment project Vietnam has ever witnessed – The Quintessence of Tonkin – the latest tourism product from Tuan Chau Hanoi Joint Stock Company, a member of Tuan Chau Group.
The Quintessence of Tonkin is an ambitious new spectacle seeks to reaffirm Hanoi and Vietnam as world class destinations for international tourists. The experience will offer spectators a chance to explore Vietnamese history and culture form a contemporary perspective, with over 200 performers, an interactive stage, and state-of-the-art technology. It highlights compelling elements of Vietnam culture but present them in modern and innovative ways.
The Show draws inspiration from the spiritual history of the nearby Thay Pagoda telling the story of the pagoda’s founding by venerable monk Tu Dao Hanh, and explains the ancient union between religion and the monarchy.
Years in the making and with hundreds of performers, an interactive stage, state-of-the-art technology, and a stunning setting, this live spectacle can be a highlight of any visit to Hanoi.
The amphitheater can cater up to 2,500 seats, with shows every evening except Tuesday. The site is approximately 40 minutes by car from central Hanoi with shuttle bus service on offer. A dinner-and-show combination is also available onsite.

Violinist Tamaki Kawakubo, a formidable artist possessing a masterful technique and a tone that “ranges from velvety soft to gripping drama”, is known as a master of the concert stage.
Tamaki Kawakubo performs Sarasate’s “Zigeunerweisen” with pianist Ronn Regev in Israel in 2012.

An exceptional evening that brings together Hanoi and Hue’s styles of folk music. The music groups Đông kinh cổ nhạc (Early Music of Tonkin) and Nhã nhạc – ca Huế Phú Xuân (Music from the Palace of Hue) will present music repertoires of these old capitals of Vietnam.
Thanh Tam, the last vocalist of the Royal Court of Hue, will be joined by Thanh Hoai from the North regions with her signature voice. The sophisticated sounds of đàn nhị Huế (two-stringed bowed musical instrument) by Tran Thao will be accompanied by Xuan Hoach’s delicate hồ xẩm (a style of singing).

A gentle Jewish-Italian waiter, Guido Orefice (Roberto Benigni), meets Dora (Nicoletta Braschi), a pretty schoolteacher, and wins her over with his charm and humor. Eventually they marry and have a son, Giosue (Giorgio Cantarini).
Their happiness is abruptly halted, however, when Guido and Giosue are separated from Dora and taken to a concentration camp. Determined to shelter his son from the horrors of his surroundings, Guido convinces Giosue that their time in the camp is merely a game.
“FILM storyteller” is a screening program that concentrates on the diversity of accesses and ways of reading film from the vision of a storyteller – writer like a filmmaker. Through 3 activities: screening – discussion – review, like a suggestion, we also concern about the film as a material to flourish blossom of awareness and expression of and with participants.We would like to encourage and call for every discovery – submission – encounter – experience from the host – the watcher – the filmmaker to create chit – chat, talks, and more. Each participant will be given a chance to experience and challenge himself or herself in various roles to lengthen endless narratives.

12 artists in the field of illustration, typography, directing, and GIF collaborate with MNSTR Agency to create an exhibition on augmented reality, bringing an exciting experience to the public. The exhibited artworks will become more lively when viewed via a mobile application. A fun and poetic experience where audiences travel with craft and digital artworks, paper and screen, silence and sound… Use your smartphone to download the app “La Joie” on App Store or Google Play!
A conference on augmented reality and virtual reality with French experts will be held on the 22 Jan at 6 pm at L’Espace auditorium. At the end of the conference, audiences will get to interact with 360° videos with virtual reality headsets!
