After the successful screening of “Roméo and Juliette”, L’Institut français de Hanoi (L’Espace) proudly presents the most renowned theatrical works of France, one of them “Cyrano de Bergerac” – a French beloved classic in the last century. The play is created by playwright Edmond Rostand, with stage production by Denis Podalydès, scenography by Éric Ruf and costumes by Christian Lacroix. The play was filmed live on stage by Dominique Thiel.
“Cyrano is always distressed about his protruding nose, but is blessed with a talent with words, with which he helps the handsome Christian to win Roxane’s heart. Also in love with the girl, he decides not to reveal himself, and each word that he writes for Christian to say to Roxne comes from his own heart.”

Science Film Festival 2017
The Seventh Science Film Festival is organized in Vietnam by Goethe-Institute in collaboration with THD Education Solution Ltd. Here, the audience will get to watch science and natural history films and participate in discovery workshops and experiments. From October to December, the Science Film Festival will come to schools and cultural centers. Kids and Youth can experience science with hands and eyes and do experiments on the spot. Films and experiments will be the medium through which curiosity and the desire to explore are encouraged and our knowledge of today’s world is expanded.
The main theme of this year’s Science Film Festival is the “Anthropocene”. The term refers to the fact that for thousands of years, humans have made their impact on nature, and have changed nature. Today, we experience Anthropocene through climate change. Our world with plants and animals is facing a crisis. The film program not only reflects on these problems but also shows us the beauty and vulnerability of the ecosystems on our Earth.
The films will be synchronized in Vietnamese. Aside from screenings for adolescents and children, there will also be games and experiments, which deepen the process of learning and understanding. Last year, 36.000 viewers attended 300 screenings in Vietnam. This year, we hope that the festival will again attract parents, teachers and students of all ages. The Science Film Festival is an initiative of Goethe-Institute to promote science education and creative learning in Vietnam.
