Hanoi's cultural craft village festival to be organised from October 7 to 11
Deputy Director of Hanoi Culture and Sports Department Truong Minh Tien said Hanoi cultural and traditional craft village festival 2015 themed "Traditional quintessence - Integration and Spreading" will be held at the Quan Ngua Sports Palace from October 7 to 11.
The opening and closing ceremony will be organised in the main stage, where will also take place cultural performances, art activities to celebrate the 61th anniversary of Capital Liberation Day and honor traditional craftsmanship.
Artisans from dozens of villages will attend an annual festival that celebrates cultural values of villages.
Hanoi's craft villages and traditional craft businesses exhibited in 150 booths at the festival will have a chance to introduce and sell their products.
The festival will also enhance cooperation in tourism between travel companies in Hanoi and other localities.
Artisans from villages in 14 cities and provinces will showcase their skills in making ceramic and bamboo products, weaving, embroidery and traditional paintings, besides wood carving, bronze sculpture and paper making at the festival.
Various programmes such as processions that praise handicraft villages' ancestors, folk games and the showcasing of culinary art of localities will be organised.
