The beverage is made of cold beer and egg yolk, whipped with sugar to create creamy and custard-like liquid and added a little bit of butter to boost the taste, AFP reported.
Nguyen Chi Hoa, owner of Giang café said that idea of the unique recipe came up in 1999, rooted from his curiosity of the combination between the beer and the egg yolk.
“I made it just for myself and luckily its taste was good, so I decided to add it to the menu,” he told AFP. Since then, egg beer has drawn attention and become a favorite beverage of foreign visitors.
“Taste of the egg beer is wonderful, a perfect combination of the greasy taste of egg and the flavor of beer. We usually drink beer but has never tried this kind of beer before”, Lysiane from France said.
