Hanoi's flower village bustling with Tet preparations

Me Linh Village is one of the flower hubs supplying fresh flowers to Hanoi and the northern provinces.

Known as one of Hanoi's largest wholesale flower markets, Me Linh Flower Village is busier than ever as Tet approaches.

Tet or Lunar New Year, is Vietnam's longest holiday, which falls in the Spring when all kinds of flowers are in full bloom.

A day trip to Me Linh Flower Village is a chance to escape the hustle and bustle and fill your lungs with fresh air in the flower fields.

Although it does not have the millennia-long history of flower cultivation of Ngoc Ha and Nhat Tan villages in Hanoi, Me Linh now boasts more than 600 hectares of flowers.

Many flowers start to bloom to get ready for Tet.

Various types of flowers are harvested before Tet, including roses, dahlias, gerberas, daisies and others.

Beautiful and abundant flowers are expected to bring a large income to farmers this Tet holiday.

Farmers light bulbs at night to help the flowers grow.

The best time to visit Me Linh is between the 12th lunar month and the third lunar month of the New Year.
