Helmets for Kids’ saves lives

The “Helmets for Kids” programme will provide first-grade students at 39 schools in Ha Tinh, Quang Binh and Dong Nai provinces with nearly 5,100 helmets as part of its effort to increase traffic safety for students and save lives.

The project will also reimburse parents 50% of the cost of new helmets they purchase for their children.

National Traffic Safety Committee Vice President Khuat Viet Hung is optimistic that the programme will help encourage parents to take responsibility to ensure their children wear helmets.

The programme is sponsored by the  National Traffic Safety Committee and the Ministry of Education and Training in collaboration with the Asia Injury Prevention Foundation (AIP).
