Honouring ten winners of 2015 Outstanding Vietnamese Youth award
Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCMCYU) held a ceremony in Hanoi on March 21 to mark the 85th anniversary of the union and the 20th anniversary of Outstanding Vietnamese Youth awards, and to announce the ten winners of the 2015 Outstanding Vietnamese Youth awards.
The outstanding Vietnamese Youth awards have honoured nearly 200 excellent youngsters since 1996.
Speaking at the ceremony, First Secretary of the HCMCYU Nguyen Dac Vinh Doan affirmed that in the past 20 years, the Outstanding Vietnamese Youth awards have not only honoured Vietnamese youths for their most outstanding achievements, but also ignited dreams and enthusiasms of millions of other young Vietnamese.
The 2015 Outstanding Vietnamese Youth awards were presented to 10 prominent people under 35 years old who stood out in scientific research, production, business operation, defence, security and order, culture, arts, sports, social affairs and other voluntary activities in 2015.
The 10 awardees were chosen from 20 outstanding contestants, narrowed down from 172 nominees introduced by numerous organisations and agencies.
Addressing the event, , Head of the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission Vuong Dinh Hue highly appreciated the HCMCYU and the Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund’s initiative to organise the awards to honour young people with excellent achievements in their field of work since 1996.
Hue also required relevant authorities, organisations and enterprises to give more support for the development of Vietnamese young talents.
On the occassion, the HCMCYU presented the 2015 Outstanding Vietnamese Youth awards to ten winners, including Le Yen Thanh from Faculty of Information Technology, University of Natural Science under Vietnam National University, HCM City; Nguyen The Hoan from University of Natural Science under Vietnam National University, Hanoi; PhD Tran Ha Lien Phuong from HCM City International University under Vietnam National University, HCM City;
Phan Thanh Sang, owner of Ysaochid Orchid Farm; Dinh Thi Bich Chau, General Manager of Hoan Chau Investment Co., ltd; Senior Lieutenant Tran Thanh Luan from Vietnam People’s Air Force; Captain Ngo Ngoc Tran from the Ministry of Public Security; Vietnam’s top tennis player Ly Hoang Nam; singer Ha Anh Tuan and Nguyen Thuy Tien, 28 years-old, manager and co-coordinator at the Vietnam Breast Cancer Network.
