Hanoi Union of Friendship Organisations (HAUFO), the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Organisation and the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Organisation opened a children’s paintings exhibition themed "I draw Vietnam – I draw Russia" at Hanoi`s Hoan Kiem Cultural Centre on March 30.
Attending the opening ceremony were Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee, representatives of the Russian Embassy, and numerous students of Vietnam and Russia.
Seventy outstanding paintings were selected from an international painting competition themed “Em ve Vietnam –Em ve nuoc Nga” (I draw Vietnam – I draw Russia) and launched by the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Organisation in 2015 to mark the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The paintings depict beautiful landscapes, people, tradition and history of the two countries and their special friendship.
Five Russian winners of the contest came to Vietnam to attend the exhibition. The awarded works focused on the topics of history, nature, people, tradition and friendship.
The competition is a good opportunity to help the two countries' children have more knowledge about your country.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman Le Hong Son highly appreciated the organisation of the competition and exhibition, adding the exhibition contributed to boost the special friendship of the two countries.
These are practical activities contributing to nurture Vietnam-Russia friendship, the Hanoian leader added.
The exhibition, which is being organised at Hanoi's Hoan Kiem Cultural Centre, 46 Hang Cot Street, runs through April 1.
After displalyed, the entire paintings will be awarded to Children's Cultural Palace in Hanoi.
