In the first four months, Hanoi earned nearly 24 trillion VND

According to statistics, it is expected that in April 2017, the total number of tourists to Hanoi reached 1,785,000 turns, increasing a year-on-year of 7%. Total revenue from tourists reached VND 5,450 billion, representing a year-on-year increase of 9%.



About 4.28 million foreign tourists visited Vietnam in the first four months, representing a year-on-year surge of 30.3%, according to the General Statistics Office (GSO).

Of the figure, about 3.5 million foreigners travelled by air (up 32.6% against the same period last year); 610,000 others came by road (up 11.1%); and the rest arrived by sea (up 77.6%).

The agency reported an increase in tourist inflows from key markets with 1.27 Chinese visitors (61.1%), 701,000 Korean visitors (up 35.1%) and 261,000 Japanese visitors (up 6.6%).

In the reviewed time, Vietnam welcomed 747,000 European visitors, posting a year-on-year growth of 25.5% while the number of American tourists rose 9.1% to nearly 230,000.

By the end of the first quarter of 2017, the total number of visitors to Hanoi reached over 6.1 million, up 7% over the same period of 2016. International tourists reached over 1.2 million visitors. Tourism revenue in the first quarter of 2017 reached over 18 trillion VND, up 9% over the same period of 2016. The leading international market for visitors to Hanoi are: China, Korea, Japan, East South Asia, America, France, Australia, etc.
