Color-coated steel from Vietnam dumped into the country stood between 12.01% and 28.49% of the Indonesian market, according to Indonesian watchdogs.
The Indonesian Anti-Dumping Committee (KADI) has announced the final decision on its anti-dumping investigation into color-coated steel sheets imports from Vietnam and China.
The information was released by the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam, under the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT).
Accordingly, Indonesia stated that color-coated steel from Vietnam dumped into the country stood between 12.01% and 28.49% of the Indonesian market, causing serious damage to its domestic manufacture sector. Basing on this conclusion, KPPI requested the application of anti-dumping measures on color-coated steel from Vietnam within five years.
On December 23, 2016, KADI launched an anti-dumping investigation into related products imported from Vietnam and China from July 2015 to June 2016.
Findings showed that the total volume of color-coated steel sheets imported by Indonesia during the investigated period reached 224,119 tons, including 196,190 tons from Vietnam and China, making up 87.5% of the total volume of Indonesia’s imports.
