Information and Communications ministry to start mobile number transfer from 2017
The Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) said mobile phone subscribers will be able to retain their numbers when switching to other mobile service providers by 2017.

According to the MIC's Authority of Telecommunications, the pilot connection between three major network operators Viettel, Mobifone and VNPT will begin in December.
The Authority of Telecommunications will complete in the same month the construction of the concentrated database for trial run and the facility is capable of allowing four million subscribers to switch networks without limiting the number of network switches for a period of three years.
According to the MIC, the connection of these three major network operators can meet the needs of over 90% of all mobile subscribers.
