Following 12 years of successful organisation, the expo contributes to promotign the image of Vietnam’s landscape and people to our international friends. This year’s event features 300 booths from both domestic and international travel agencies and is expected to attract over 35,000 visitors.
Aiming to increase the chances of promoting business from the fair, many businesses offered many promotion programmes in order to attract tourists. Not only travel companies but also many airlines will simultaneously discount tickets to stimulate travel during the course of the 3 day event.
According to Ngo Hoai Chung, Deputy Director General of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, in the first eight months of this year, more than 8.47 million foreign tourists visited Vietnam, an annual increase of 29.7 per cent. However, it is a tough task to achieve the target set by the Government of receiving 13 million foreign tourist arrivals this year, he added.
For this reason, the ITE HCMC plays an important role in attracting and promoting tourism, attracting international visitors to Vietnam. With theme “Your Gateway to Tourism in Asia,” ITE HCMC is one of the country’s tourism promotion programmes that aims to boost the country’s tourism potential as well as strengthen the connection with countries in the ASEAN region.
Last year, the event consisted of more than 280 stalls from 17 countries and territories such as Cambodia, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Holland, Philippines, Russia, Taiwan, Singapore, Vietnam… In the framework of the ITE HCMC 2016, the Open ACMECS’s Ministerial Forum (Cambodia, Lao, Vietnam, Thailand) on responsible tourism was held.
