Int’l telecom conference opens in Hanoi

Over 30 international and Vietnamese telecom groups participated in an international telecom conference held by the Ministry of Information and Communications o­n June 12-13 in Hanoi to seek optimal solutions for developing broadband and wireless telecommunications in Vietnam.

Over 30 international and Vietnamese telecom groups participated in an international telecom conference held by the Ministry of Information and Communications o­n June 12-13 in Hanoi to seek optimal solutions for developing broadband and wireless telecommunications in Vietnam.

Among participants were famous world groups like SK Telecom (South Korea), China Netcom (China), PCCW (Hong Kong), Orange and France Telecom (France) and VodaFone (UK).

After the opening speech by Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Le Nam Thang, Vice Head of the Telecommunications Department Le Thi Ngoc Mo introduced Vietnam’s broadband and wireless telecom development policy.

Vodafone’s representative introduced important solutions to develop a telecom network which is adaptable for a developing market while France Telecom spoke about its statistics and forecasts for the development of 3G and Wimax and suitable technologies for Vietnam.

Over 20 presentations by Vietnamese and foreign experts about broadband and wireless telecom were made.
