Italian Desserts event closed in Hanoi

This is the last event to close the series of the "True Italian Taste" project in Vietnam, which is implemented by the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the country.

At the Italian Desserts event in Hanoi, local diners explored the Italian dessert culture, learned about certificates of origin and geographical indications of Italian food and beverage products, as well as enjoyed wonderful desserts created by the Italian chef Francesco Conzattu, chef of Vinci Pizza & Grill restaurant.

This is the last event to close the series of "True Italian Taste" project in Vietnam, marking four years of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (ICHAM)'s association with "True Italian Taste" with more than 10 food promotion events.

ICHAM President Michele D'Ercole said: “I believe the events held throughout Vietnam from 2019 to 2022 have contributed to raising Vietnamese consumers' awareness of Italian products."

The series of events has attracted the participation of food importers and distributors, restaurant owners, hotels, food bloggers and Italian food lovers.

Francesco Arcuri, Head of the Economic and Commercial Department of the Italian Embassy in Hanoi said: “The events of the "True Italian Taste" project have made an important contribution to the promotion of Italian culinary culture, agricultural products, food and beverages.”

In the past five years, Italy's export turnover to Vietnam has increased by 78%, reaching more than US$1.3 billion in 2021. Among the Italian goods, the export of agricultural-food products surged 86%, accounting for 6.7% of the total value.

In order to boost the promotion of food & beverage products to Vietnamese consumers as well as food and cultural exchanges, the national culinary promotion project True Italian Taste has been implemented in 40 countries and territories.

As the executor of this project in Vietnam, the ICHAM will continue its role in promoting Vietnam-Italy trade as well as Italian culture and cuisine to the Vietnamese people.
