Oita prefecture of Japan wishes to boost multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam, Governor of the prefecture Hirose Katsusada told Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Nguyen Quoc Cuong.

Meeting with Ambassador Cuong during his working visit to Oita on July 2-4, Hirose Katsusada highlighted huge potential for the two sides to enhance links, affirming that the local authorities are willing to create favourable conditions for their enterprises to invest in Vietnam.

For his part, Ambassador Cuong asserted the embassy’s support for Oita prefecture to boost cooperation with Vietnam, especially in economy, tourism, education-training, and labour.
During his stay, the Vietnamese diplomat had a meeting with former Japanese Prime Minister Murayama Tomiichi, during which he spoke highly of great contributions made by the Japanese official to the Vietnam-Japan relations.
Cuong and his entourage visited APU University, where over 500 Vietnamese students are pursuing study. They also toured some businesses and tourist sites in the locality.
