Lam Dong Province is rolling up its sleeves for major tourism and cultural festivals next week to mark the end of the 2014 National Tourism Year of Central Highlands-Dalat.
At a news briefing in HCMC last week, authorities of the Central Highlands province said the festival highlighting tourism attractions will take place from December 23 to 27, with around 200,000 tourists expected to attend.
The festival will feature numerous flowers on show, vegetable and flower bazaars, tours to flower gardens and tea farms, weaving art, performances of ethnic groups in the Central Highlands region, musical performances, and seminars on tourism, and investment and trade promotion.
In addition the festival in Dalat, Lam Dong Province will kick off the fifth Week of Tea Culture in Bao Loc City on December 20.
Dalat City now has around 675 hotels and guesthouses with over 11,708 rooms able to accommodate 40,000 tourists per day. With various festive celebrations, Lam Dong Province looks to welcome some five million visitors next year.
After the 2014 tourism year wraps up in Lam Dong Province, the central province of Thanh Hoa will host the 2015 tourism year on the theme of World Heritages Connection in Vietnam.
