Launching texting campaign collecting money for drought, saltwater intrusion areas
Vietnam Red Central Committee held a ceremony in Hanoi on April 7 to launch texting campaign to raise funds for people affected by drought and saline intrusion in the central, Central Highlands and Mekong Delta regions.
To respond to the campaign, people can send the message “NC” to 1407 from now until June 5. Each contributes 14,000 VND to the fund.
Apart from texting, people could come to the Vietnam Red Cross headquarters at No.82, Nguyen Du street, Hanoi, or its representative office in the southern region at No.201, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai street, District 1, HCM City to directly support the fund.
In addition, people can also send money to bank accounts 1240202005348 (VND), 1240202018198 (USD), and 1240202006862 (EUR) of the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development – Hanoi’s Hoang Mai branch.
Vietnam Red Central Committee vowed to use the raised money to provide clean water and water containers and support families that were affected by drought and saltwater intrusion.
Earlier, the Committee called on its members and people across the country to support people in the central, Central Highlands and Mekong Delta regions.
The Committee has raised more than 11 billion VND drought, salinity-hit areas, of which the US Red Cross donated nearly 4 billion VND to build water facilities for poor households in the Mekong Delta province of Long An.
