Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) and the United Nations Volunteer Programme held a ceremony to launch the 5th National Volunteer Awards in Hanoi on September 15.

The award aims to recognise and encourage voluntary organisations and individuals who have shown their dedication to and stellar performance in voluntary efforts, contributing to development and national defence.
Some 10 organisations and 10 individuals will be awarded at this year’s event. The winners will receive certificates of merit from the HCYU and 5 million VND in cash each.
Nominations should be sent to the organising board between October 1 and 31.
Public voting will take place on the website www.tinhnguyenquocgia.vn for 15 days starting from November 5.
The award ceremony is expected to be organised on December 5 on the occasion of International Volunteering Day in Hanoi integrated with National Volunteering Day 2015.
