Microsoft commits to supporting IT in Vietnam’s education

Microsoft will support teachers and students in Vietnam access to and effectively use the latest Information Technology (IT) resources.

On December 18, the latest technology and effective solutions for education in Vietnam were introduced by Microsoft at a conference titled "Forum on Educational Technology". 
 
 
This activity aims at further strengthening the integration of IT in teaching and learning, contributing to the modernization and renewal of education in Vietnam.
Overall objectives of education in Vietnam by 2020 are a comprehensive innovation in education towards standardization, modernization, socialization, democratization and international integration; and increase of knowledge, talent cultivation, development of human resources, especially high quality of human resources to meet social needs. 
To meet this goal, the quality of education needs to be enhanced in a comprehensive way, especially encouraging to apply teaching methods which have breakthroughs.
Speaking at the conference, Professor Nguyen Lan Dung said: "The use of IT in education is regarded as one of the key strategies to achieve the goals of education, increases the efficiency of interaction between teachers and students in the classroom, and practice students’ critical thinking skills in using IT in today's technological era ".
It can be said that education is an industry requires a lot of creativities both in training and in management. 
Implementing these activities requires to use multiple databases and infrastructure which its cost is not small.
Microsoft Vietnam's General Director Vu Minh Tri stressed: “Microsoft’s cloud computing solution can provide a method for education to help students get a potential calculator and solve the quention of building infrastructure, software, and medium data storage which save costs, and have productivity and operational efficiency. "
Specifically, Office 365 is a perfect tool for education in Vietnam. This toolkit helps the entire personnels in education, teachers and students, have a means of full features such as email, calendar, OneNote, unlimited document storage, exchanges and online workshops, etc.
With the advantages of using Microsoft's cloud computing, users can be fully assured of the integrity and safety data, the ability to run on any operating systems and devices.
Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu from Ho Chi Minh City University of Pedagogy said: "The application of IT in teaching has been applied at Ho Chi Minh City University of Pedagogy for years. I find the tools provided by Microsoft, especially the Office 365 effective. It helps us create and compose effective lectures. The lectures become more vivid, and more receptive. Using Office 365, I can easily compose, search for reference materials anywhere and any time, while students can actively communicate with each other to complete exercises on the same document without losing too much time as before."
During the event, Microsoft also introduced Office Mix which is a new utility for Power Point 2013. It helps users enhance video presentation and implementation of interactive lessons among users in the field of education. Office Mix allows users to record audio and video of the entire presentation. Users can speak and take note on the slide, insert questions, integrate online videos and have other useful functions.
Forum on Microsoft’s Technology for Education was held to introduce the approach of information technology derived from the needs of the application of a systematic and comprehensive reform-oriented education of the government .
The forum is a place for IT leaders of universities to exchange with experts on building a best platform technology which synchronizes with the transition of teaching methods at universities, moving towards model of education in order to develop the potential of each student.
