Mobile World reports revenue of US$1.3 billion after 4 months

In the first 4 months of 2018, Mobile World Investment (MWG) reported revenue of nearly VND30 trillion (US$1.3 billion), up 43% year on year and 34% of the year plan.

The company's after tax profit is recorded at over VND1 trillion (US$43.9 million), up 44% over the last year's period and 40% of the year plan, announced its business report in first 4 months.

MWG's online revenue reached VND3.5 trillion (US$153.8 million). MWG's Dien May Xanh chain contributed 55% revenue with VND16.3 trillion (US$716.3 million), followed by The Gioi Di Dong (Mobile World) at 42% or VND12.4 trillion (US$544.9 million) and Bach Hoa Xanh at 3% or VND877 billion (US$38.54 million). 
Of the total revenue, 53% comes from the sales of smart phones, tablets, laptop and accessories; 44% from electronic devices, while the remaining are food and fast-moving-consumer-goods (FMCG).
In April, the Dien May Xanh chain has launched 8 additional stores as part of its expansion plan and increasing revenue. 
By the end of April 30, Bach Hoa Xanh chain has a total of 367 stores at 19 out of 24 districts in Ho Chi Minh city. 
A recent change in selecting store's location at main road instead of residential areas has been positive. Consequently, Bach Hoa Xanh stores, which were opened in April, have recorded an average revenue of VND1 billion (US$43,950) per store monthly. 
Founded by a team of 5 co-founders in 2004, MWG initially established itself as the market leader and most prominent mobile device retailer in Vietnam, specializing in mobile phones, tablets, laptops, accessories, and other related products through its thegioididong.com store network.
MWG currently has over 2,000 stores today under four different retail brands: thegioididong.com, Dien May Xanh, Bach Hoa Xanh, and vuivui.com. The company has also recently announced the acquisitions of Tran Anh Digital World and the Phuc An Khang pharmacy chain.
